Some exciting changes have been announced on the administration side of our company.
President Nathan Helder announced that after an extensive review of our Human Resources Department and looking ahead to 2025, we have split the HR Manager position into two positions: A Director of Human Resources and a Health and Safety Manager. “*With this change, Gelderman will be positioned for many years to come and continue our successful growth*,” says Nathan.
[Linda Hand](https://gelderman.com/company/team/15/linda-hand) is excited to take on the new role of Health and Safety Manager. She will concentrate on moving Gelderman towards a “best in class” safety culture, focusing on safety policy development and documentation, workplace safety inspections, workplace accidents and investigations, safety training, and the WSIB Workwell program.
[Deborah Gendreau](https://gelderman.com/company/team/99/deborah-gendreau) has joined the Gelderman team as our new Director of Human Resources. Deborah’s first day at Gelderman was January 3, 2017.
Linda journey began back in 1997 with Gelderman, when she applied for a part-time position as an office assistant. She doesn’t recall ever working part-time here, saying it’s been five days a week, 12 months a year ever since.
Linda’s strong practical understanding of the ‘Gelderman Way’ afforded her the opportunity to implement that culture into HR practices. Over the years, she witnessed the company grow from 40 to 110 employees. During that time, the need for human resource management came along with that growth.
Over the years, Linda received her designation as a Certified Human Resource Professional through the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario and is currently a member of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce HR Roundtable.
As we grow, health and safety becomes much more important at Gelderman Landscape Services. Linda is passionate about H&S and is uniquely qualified to take on the role of keeping our employees safe on the job.
Deborah has worked 15 years in the Human Resources field. She is passionate about the field of Human Resources, knowing it gives her the ability to impact individual and team performance.
In her new role, she will focus on providing Gelderman with the tools to ensure our employees have the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for the long-term benefit as an individual, which in turn makes the company as a whole stronger.
A graduate of Sheridan College in Human Resources Management, Deborah has also earned her Certified Human Resources Leader from the Human Resources Professionals Association.
We congratulate Linda in her new role and welcome Deborah to our team. The year 2017 is shaping up to be an exciting one!
